EVA
EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Copolymer) is a copolymer produced by combining VAM (vinyl acetate monomer) ranging from 2% to 40% with PE (polyethylene) by autoclave or LDPE tubular process.
EVA is an elastomeric material and has a soft, flexible structure.
When the vinyl acetate content of EVA increases:
- Transparency increases
- Density increases
- Impact strength and tear resistance increase
- It is softer and more elastic
- Has a lower melting point
- Easier to cross-connect
- Permeability increases
- Polarity increases
- ESCR increases
EVA in its pure form or blends with different substances is used in a wide range of industries and applications:
- Industrial agriculture and food blown film applications
- Flexible profiles and pipes
- Solar cell encapsulation
- A wide range of compounds, including cable applications
- Footwear, building and protection foams
- Hot-Melt adhesives
